An Organized Nursery

Now that my newborn son Asa is 2.5 months old, I am realizing I use his nursery  quite a bit. I decorated his space with primary colors and decided on a dark wood finish for his furniture and as with other spaces in my house, I fully anticipated adding new colorful items to the nursery over time. Here are a couple shots of the nursery:

This lamp was a Home Goods find, whenever I look at it, I think of my Nana, she loved the green and white shade. I was soo excited to share all of Asa's things with her. I thought a personal touch would be nice on his dresser so I placed a maternity picture there, a picture of my Nana and I also greets him. The basket is full of hand-written wishes and prayers from guests at one of Asa's baby showers.

I purchased this art from an etsy seller when I decided on whales for Asa's room. The colors were absolutely perfect. The Ribba frames from Ikea really make his art pop.

My very dear friend Katrina from Chic Little House made this piece for Asa while we were both awaiting the arrivals of our son's. I love the simplicity of this statement, and whenever I think about Asa becoming a man, I think of him understanding his place in God's heart because he had a sense of purpose from his earliest memories.

As for Asa's bedding, you won't find that in any store. Everything was custom made for him ~ I bought the argyle and whale patterned fabrics from  fabric.com and the complementing fabric for the bedskirt from Joann's fabric. The bumper pad was a 14.00 pad from Ikea, it was a solid white and super easy to cover.
The chair you have a glimpse of is hands down the best part of the nursery, that was a chair in my childhood home, my Nana handed it down to me, I found a surefit cover for the chair. Whenever I miss my Nana, I sit in the chair... that's everyday....

I painted this bible scripture for Asa, once I decided on his name, I memorized the scripture and repeated it to him while he was in my belly. I pray he lives up to it.

The plans I have for Asa's room include:
a shadow box (currently in the bag between the crib and changer)
ABC's Chart
A primary color Organizer with 9-12 bins

Hope you enjoyed the tour, I have much more to share...
